OAKS was started in 2017 by Head Coach Monir Kassem. Kassem wanted to build upon his experience in the UAE and created OAKS to be a space where swimmers of all abilities, backgrounds and age groups could come together to develop over all well-being and club spirit.
The focus is too often placed on “the end result”, and the journey is missed. At OAKS, we believe in creating the right environment, a community where an athlete wants to be and learn, which is vital for progression and delivers further success in a sports career.

Each level is designed to give the swimmer outcomes in a progressive, diversified framework focusing on FUN sessions from developing Core Aquatic and Movement Skills and building confidence and competence in the water.
Focusing on Core Aquatic Skills, our early stages teach basic motor skills, introduction to water and the swimming environment, from a fun and energetic approach, allowing the swimmer to develop breathing practice and controlled movements through core skills, while teaching safety in and around the pool area.
With 6 levels in our Learn to Swim programme, the criteria is designed to develop all four Disciplines. We want to develop a strong, competent swimmer leading them into our Squad Programme.

Following the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework, OAKS squad programme is designed to provide a progressive pathway for swimmers of all abilities, backgrounds, and age groups. With a structured pathway, we provide both young and experienced swimmers with a programme to maximise their ability to reach their potential.
For our Performance Squads, we offer strength training in the performance gym up to twice a week. With a focus on correct form and injury prevention, gym sessions help build strength, speed and address muscle imbalances.
